Sandra George: Start from the Level

Craigmillar Now will partner with the City Art Centre to present Sandra George’s (1957- 2013) largest exhibition to date, as part of Edinburgh Art Festival’s focus on archives and communities. 

Featuring over 200 photographs of Sandra’s empowering archive (held by Craigmillar Now), this exhibition showcases her inspiring work with communities and young people, and documents her vital social-action projects in Edinburgh from the late 1970s onwards. The exhibition will also be accompanied by a new publication, the first dedicated to Sandra’s work.

The City Art Centre will host a programme of events, celebrating her photography including sharing events with family, friends and colleagues, and the creation of new responses to Sandra’s work.
